Original: The City is excited to invite the community to a meeting to discuss bringing the Honor Flight program to southeastern Idaho. The meeting will be held at Pocatello City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue, Tuesday, October 15 at 6 p.m.
The Honor Flight program is dedicated to transporting as many United States military veterans as possible to Washington, DC, to see the memorials of the respective wars in which they fought, all at no cost to the veterans.
“After attending an event as a guardian, I was inspired to bring this program to the Pocatello area, said Mayor Brian Blad. “I encourage anyone wanting additional information to attend this meeting.”
Participation in an Honor Flight trip provides veterans with the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with their comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. The Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve a common mission: showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to the Honor Flight organization.
If you are unable to attend but would like to sign up to be on the Honor Flight Board please follow the link pocatello.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11557/Honor-Flight-Board-Application-PDF. When completed, drop off the form at City Hall or email mayor@pocatello.gov.
