Residents of Southeastern Idaho have a refreshing new way to beat the summer heat! The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) Splashpad in O.K. Ward Park Monday, June 10 at 5:15 p.m., 1400 West Quinn Road.
The ICCU splashpad features a garden theme with approximately 3,000 square feet of “wet zone,” with water features spraying in various directions. Designed to cater to different age groups, the splashpad includes a section specifically for toddlers and another with more dynamic water features for older children.

We will also be celebrating the grand re-opening of Brooklyn’s Playground. This spring, the playground underwent significant improvements, including installing a new turf surface. Thanks to support from Brooklyn’s Buddies and the hard work of several volunteers, additional enhancements including painting of the equipment were made to the playground. This is the first resurfacing of the playground since its opening in 2011. The playground was originally built through donations to ensure accessibility for all children, including those with disabilities.
“We are thrilled to announce these grand openings! We appreciate the partnership we have with ICCU and Brooklyn’s Buddies to bring these two projects together,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “We couldn’t be more excited to make this park available to the public for a great time to play, cool off, and spend time with their family!”
ICCU Splashpad and Brooklyn’s Playground are accessible to persons with disabilities. Program access accommodations may be provided with two (2) days’ advance notice by contacting Skyler Beebe at sbeebe@pocatello.gov; 208.234.6248; or 5815 South 5th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho.
