Zoo Idaho will host the first-ever SeptemBEAR Family Fest sponsored by Lookout Credit Union Saturday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SeptemBEAR Family Fest is a fundraising event coordinated by the Zoo Idaho Zoological Society with ticket proceeds benefiting Zoo Idaho.
Admission to this event includes hay rides, a scavenger hunt, animal talks with zoo keepers, and many other games and activities provided by more than a dozen local organizations. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for kids 12 and under, and free for children under 3. Zoo Idaho Zoological Society members will receive a $2 discount on each ticket. Food will be available for purchase.
Zoo Idaho is home to approximately 100 animals local to Idaho. All the animals at Zoo Idaho came from situations where they would not have been able to survive in the wild. Most of the resident animals were rescued from life-threatening situations when they were very young.
