A Public Hearing has been set for the proposed Sign Code at the City Council regular meeting September 5 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 911 N. 7th Avenue. During the hearing, the Council will hear comments from the public concerning the City’s proposed Sign Code.
Since February 2023, the City in collaboration with the business owners, sign contractors, elected officials and residents, has been working to rewrite sign standards for the City. These standards provide for more on-premises signage, clear rules, master sign plans, no time restrictions on “portable signs,” and electronic message center curfews, and provide two versions of code concerning off-premises signs, in some instances known as billboards. We encourage citizens to come voice their thoughts on the proposed sign code. If you can’t attend in person, written comments can be submitted to the Planning and Development Services department.
