At their regular meeting July 18 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall (Council Chambers, 911 N 7th Avenue), the Pocatello City Council will hear comments from the public concerning the City’s proposed update to the Pocatello Downtown Historic District Design Standards.
Since February 2023, the City, in collaboration with the Pocatello Historic Preservation Commission and the project consultant Kirk Huffaker Preservation Strategies, has been working to update and clarify the design standards for the Downtown Historic District. These standards will help provide resources to Downtown property owners and businesses on how to proceed with a rehabilitation project or exterior alterations on buildings within the Historic District.
Project materials may be obtained online at pocatello.gov/DocumentCenter/View/10922/Draft-Pocatello-Downtown-Historic-District-Design-Standards, by calling 208-234-6184 or by emailing planning@pocatello.gov. A staff report will be available the Monday prior to the hearing, in the Planning & Development Services Department or online at pocatello.gov/AgendaCenter.
All interested persons are invited to attend to express their views regarding this proposal. Oral testimony may be offered during the meeting and will be restricted to no more than three (3) minutes per person. Written testimony up to two (2) pages may be submitted up to the time of the meeting or to the Planning & Development Services Department, and written testimony of more than two (2) pages must be submitted no later than five (5) working days prior to the scheduled meeting date.
