General Ross Park Aquatic Complex Facility Rules

The following rules pertain to the use of facilities at the Ross Park Aquatics Complex (RPAC):

  • Anyone entering Ross Park Aquatic Complex must pay an admission fee. No exceptions.
  • Swim diapers and plastic pants are required for all toddlers under 3 years of age.
  • Proper swim attire required.
  • Well-fitted, Coast Guard-approved life jackets are allowed if used within parental reach.
  • Glass containers are not allowed in the facility.
  • Alcoholic beverages or tobacco/vape products of any kind are not permitted.
  • Patrons must supply their own locks for lockers, and valuables should never be left unattended. The City of Pocatello is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

General Pool Rules

  • No running
  • No diving (including no back dives)
  • No flips or cartwheels
  • No flotation devices
  • No riding on shoulders
  • No water balloons
  • No spitting
  • No pushing
  • No food, drinks, or gum in the pool
  • No barbecue grills allowed
  • Lifeguards' rules and instructions are to be followed at all times

Main Pool Rules

  • Noodles are allowed
  • No walking or standing on the wall
  • No swimming while on the ramp
  • Do not climb over the rail
  • Do not hang on the ropes
  • Do not float on the basketballs
  • Do not hang on the basketball court net or rim
  • Non-swimmers must stay in shallow area
  • No sitting or standing on the rails
  • Any suspected non-swimmers must be swim tested by lifeguards
  • Lifeguards' rules and instructions are to be followed at all times

Lazy River Rules

  • No tipping tubes
  • Do not deflate the tubes
  • No jumping into tubes from side
  • Do not hang on the bridge
  • Do not walk along the sides under the bridge
  • Do not block the river
  • Do not stand or kneel on the tubes
  • Do not stack the tubes
  • Do not bounce on the tubes
  • Noodles are not allowed
  • Lifeguards' rules and instructions are to be followed at all times

Activity Pool Rules

  • Noodles are allowed
  • No jumping on lily pads
  • No running across lily pads
  • No floating on the basketballs
  • No hanging on the basketball court net or rim
  • One at a time on the lily pads
  • People are required to keep moving along the lily pads
  • No climbing on top of the cargo net
  • Do not tip the lily pads
  • If you fall off the lily pads, you must start over
  • Any suspected non-swimmers must be swim tested by lifeguards
  • Lifeguards' rules and instructions are to be followed at all times

Kiddie Pool Rules

  • Ages 10 and under only on toy
  • No chairs in the water surrounding the edge
  • Feet first only down the slide
  • No adults riding the slide or on the tire swing
  • One at a time down the slide
  • Only 3 kids on the tire swing at a time
  • No standing on the tire swing
  • Lifeguards' rules and instructions are to be followed at all times

Water Slide Rules

  • All riders must be at least 48” tall.
  • Maximum rider weight is 300 pounds.
  • Warning: water depth is shallow.
  • Non-swimmers are not permitted.
  • All riders must ride feet first while lying on their back with arms crossed across their chest. Don't not go down the slide head first.  Do not sit up while riding the slide.
  • Riders must enter the slide in a sitting position and wait for instructions from the lifeguard stationed at the slide started tub.
  • Do not propel yourself into the ride.
  • Only one rider at a time. Absolutely no trains or chains of riders are permitted.
  • No running, standing, kneeling, rotating, tumbling or stopping in the flume. Arms and hands must remain in the flume at all times. Riders should remain in proper riding position until forward movement is terminated. At no time should the rider attempt to stand up while on the slide or prior to coming to a complete stop in the splash out area.
  • No tubes, mats or life jackets are permitted on the waterslide.
  • No combs or foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry can be worn while riding the slide. No cut-off jeans or swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation, only approved swimsuits allowed.
  • The line should form on the deck with one rider on each landing and one rider in the starter tub.  Wait until landing area is clear before entering.
  • Riders must be in good health.  Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy or persons using prescription medication should consult their physician before using this slide.  Individuals with medical conditions including, but not limited to, pregnancy, heart or back problems should not ride.
  • Do not use this slide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No diving from the slide.
  • Leave the run out promptly after entering.

WARNING:  FAILURE TO FOLLOW RULES CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
