The City of Pocatello will hold its general election Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for the purpose of electing a Mayor (four-year term) and Council Member Seats 4, 5, and 6 (each for four-year terms).
The first day to file a Declaration of Candidacy is Monday, August 18, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Forms will be available in the Mayor’s Office at Pocatello City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The deadline to file is Friday, August 29, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Candidates must file a Declaration of Candidacy with the City Clerk, accompanied by:
1. A nonrefundable filing fee of $40.00; or
2. A petition of candidacy signed by at least five (5) qualified city electors, verified by the County Clerk’s Office.
In addition, candidates must affirm that they:
• Are a qualified elector
• Are at least 18 years of age
• Are a U.S. citizen
• Have their primary residence within the city limits
• Have a voter registration address matching their residence address on the declaration
• Have been a resident of the City for at least 30 days prior to filing
