After-school climbing is fun for kids! Learn the basics of climbing in a welcoming indoor environment at the Community Recreation Center climbing wall. We’ll teach the kids about the equipment, how to be safe, and how to boulder and climb routes.

The Junior Jazz Program is open to all 3rd-8th Grade Girls and Boys in School District 25. Teams are organized by grade level and coached by volunteer coaches. Volunteers are needed to help this program run smoothly. Anyone contemplating coaching should contact the Parks and Recreation Office early so they can get organized. Games will be played at the four Pocatello Middle Schools on Saturdays in November and December (GIRLS) and February and March (BOYS). Games begin at 8:30am and may continue until 5pm. Player registration fee covers the cost of the jersey. Team pictures are an optional purchase during the season. All practice times in School District facilities are reserved by our department.

The Adult Basketball League begins play in mid-November. The league is scheduled to play on a Monday through Thursday basis. Game times are 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm at the Middle Schools. Play is governed by the rules of the National Federation of High Schools with special modifications for our league. Fees are due before the first scheduled game. PURCHASE STOCKINGS FROM NOVEMBER 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 6, 2023. Sponsor a stocking for one of our Zoo Idaho residents. Stockings include treats and enrichment for the animal, plus sponsors one school outreach program for a local school who cannot afford to pay. Stocking Sponsor Winter Enrichment Day will be on Saturday, December 9 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Stocking sponsors are invited to a private event at the zoo to watch their animals enjoy the enrichment items included in their stocking.
