Every year the City’s Science and Environment Division visits local schools in Pocatello to teach the students about different environmentally-friendly topics. The City visited Wilcox Elementary School in May and interacted with over one-hundred 4th graders.
During their activities, the students took on the role of individual water molecules, tracing their journey through the water cycle. Each student made a bracelet, using different colored beads to represent the various stages of the water cycle as they traveled through it. This fun, hands-on approach was a great way to deepen their knowledge of water as a precious resource and fostered a genuine appreciation of nature.
