“What is an Exploration Kit?” Well, that’s a great question. Exploration kits contain a specific topic of interest that you can explore, like cupcake decorating, learning braille, gardening, Dungeons and Dragons, and more. The Marshall Public Library (MPL) currently has almost two dozen kits.
The kits check out in a canvas bag and include books, DVDs, and sometimes tools. For example, the crocheting and knitting kit has crochet hooks, needles, and a small round of yarn. MPL card holders can also check out the new Gardening Exploration Kit, which includes books on gardening and basic gardening tools.

“I love creating kits, like the gardening kit and many others, for people to check out and have fun using at home. They are a great hands-on option for people to explore new hobbies without spending a lot of money,” said Becky Mitton, MPL staff member and creator of the Exploration Kits.
If you have any questions about the Exploration Kits, please contact Becky Mitton, at 208-232-1263.

MPL is accessible to persons with disabilities. Program access accommodations may be provided with three (3) days advance notice by contacting Skyler Beebe at sbeebe@pocatello.gov, 208.234.6248, or 5815 South 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID.
