About the Hearing Examiner
The purpose of the Hearing Examiner is to provide professional review and decisions on matters involving variances, conditional use permits involving 1.5 acres of land or less, and sign exceptions. Hearing Examiners shall be professionally trained or licensed planners, engineers, architects, or other persons with relevant professional training or experience. Hearing Examiners can also have significant experience in the field of planning and zoning. See Chapter 17.02.600 of the City Code for the full responsibility of a Hearing Examiner.
